What is Pyrrole Disorder?

Pyrrole Disorder is also known as Kryptopyrrole, Kryptopyrroluria, Pyrroluria, Pyrolle Disorder, Mauve Factor, Pyroluria and Hemepyrrole. It is an abnormality in the blood which is thought to be a genetic disorder.

Physical Signs & Symptoms

People with Pyrrole may only show one symptom or a great many. Expression varies from patient to patient.

  • White spots on the fingernails
  • Abnormal fat distribution / larger mid-section
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Delayed onset of puberty / irregular periods / amenorrhea
  • Pale skin that burns easily / inability to tan / thin skin / anaemia / hyper-pigmentation of the skin

  • Overcrowded teeth and poor tooth enamel (teeth in upper jaw are often overcrowded)
  • Joint pain / knee pain / creaking knees / cold hands and feet, even in summer
